Andréa C. Basora
BIO

Ms. Basora is vice president of Web and Editorial Services at the Insurance Information Institute. Since joining the I.I.I. as senior editor in 2005 she has focused on improving the quality and scope of the organization’s Web site and implementing new technologies for the distribution of content.

Aside from managing and editing the I.I.I. Web site, Ms. Basora also works extensively with the public and member companies, helping people get the information they need, and working on collaborative projects such as co-branding I.I.I. software and applications.

Prior to joining the I.I.I., Ms. Basora was managing editor for Multimedia at Pearson Education where she developed and edited CD-ROMs as well as online and print products for teaching English as a second language. She has had extensive experience developing start-up Web sites, and was part of the original development team for Newsweek.com, where she worked for several years.

Before going into publishing and new media, Ms. Basora served as an instructor of English at Yale University and Saint Louis University, teaching American literature and English as a second language. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Columbia University, and holds an M.A. and M. Phil. in English from Yale University.
