This Risk & Insurance Webinar, sponsored by FM Global, features Robert Hartwig, president of the Insurance Information Institute; Chris Johnson, senior vice president of FM Global; and moderator Paul Bomberger, editor-in-chief of Risk & Insurance, who discuss a number of issues related to protecting global supply chains risk in this time of major natural catastrophes and political and economic uncertainty and turmoil. The webinar categorizes supply chain disruption threats such as earthquakes, resurgent terrorism, tornadoes and hurricanes; and focuses on risk and the new world economic order, including globalization, extended supply chains, outsourcing and shifting trade patterns. The report situates the problems in what is called the “unfortunate nexus of opportunity, risk and instability” and concludes that future growth is necessarily fraught with greater risk. The webinar offers solutions for managing supply chain disruption, focusing on how to avoid or mitigate the supply chain exposures and how to manage the financial impact through the use of insurance and other techniques.
