Workers Compensation: Opportunities and Challenges in a Weak Exposure Environment

SPONSORED BY

This PowerPoint report, presented by Robert Hartwig, president of the Insurance Information Institute at the Workers Compensation Educational Conference, notes that there has been tremendous erosion of workers comp exposure over the past several years as massive job losses sapped the economy. The presentation explains that while the trend improved in early 2011 it is now weak again. The report includes a workers compensation exposure summary focusing on premium growth trends, the trend in the number of workers covered by workers comp programs and wage trends. A labor market overview and outlook reviews employment trends, and a discussion of workers compensation and the economy highlights regional differences in the recession and recovery. A section on future exposure trends looks at top growth industries and jobs and professions likely to contribute the most to workers comp exposures.
