Alice LeBlanc is Director of the Office of Environment and Climate Change in the Corporate Affairs Department of American International Group (AIG). Her responsibilities include coordinating design and implementation of AIG’s corporate-wide, global climate change strategy. This strategy addresses new business initiatives in the areas of insurance, investments, financial products and consulting and includes education, research and public policy components.
Ms. LeBlanc is trained as an economist and has worked for the past 15 years to promote market mechanisms as tools for environmental protection and sustainable development.
Her prior work includes: Senior Vice President, Chicago Climate Exchange: design, research and marketing; Independent consultant on climate issues: USEPA, Government of Australia, World Bank, UNCTAD, Commission for Environmental Cooperation and the US and Canadian private sector; Senior Economist, Environmental Defense Fund: participation in establishing regulations for the U.S. acid rain trading program, research and advocacy globally for GHG emissions trading; International (Country Risk) Economist in the banking sector and Strategic Planner in the oil and gas industry.
Ms. LeBlanc has made presentations throughout the U.S., including Congressional testimony, and globally at government, international agency and private conferences.
