This is Jeanne Salvatore, senior vice president and consumer spokesperson at the Insurance Information Institute. What follows are two written quotes from the news release on the insurance implications of having a garage sale.
Segment 1
“Somebody could slip and fall in your front yard and you could be legally liable. Check with your agent or company representative to be sure you have enough liability insurance to protect your assets in case you’re sued.”
Segment 2
“We live in a very litigious society. Having an adequate amount of liability protection is a very important financial protection.”
