RESOURCES - Real Life Stories: The Robinson Family
Cindy and Bernard Robinson, both school teachers, got married in June of 2005; that July they closed on their first home in Violet, Louisiana, a community in St Bernard Parish outside of New Orleans; in August Hurricane Katrina devastated the area, and their house, along with most of the Violet community, was completely destroyed by flooding. Unlike many of their neighbors, the Robinsons had bought flood insurance, despite the fact their house was not in a high risk flood zone.
Cindy Robinson discusses the process of choosing insurance for their new home.
