MALVERN, Pa., April 7, 2026 – The Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I) has deployed comprehensive awareness campaigns in Oklahoma and Wisconsin, underscoring the impact of lawsuit abuse on consumer costs and outlining the need for tort reform.
The campaigns utilize digital display advertising around the Capitol Districts of each state, brick-and-mortar highway billboards in Oklahoma City, and targeted consumer Facebook ads to educate legislators and consumers on the “hidden tort tax” impacting their states:
By demonstrating the direct link between lawsuit abuse and increased insurance premiums, Triple-I aims to catalyze legislative action and economic relief for residents in both states.
“Building on the momentum of our successful campaigns in California, Illinois and Missouri, we are scaling our 2026 advocacy efforts into Oklahoma and Wisconsin,” said Triple-I CEO Sean Kevelighan. “We have already seen how meaningful tort reform in states like Florida, Georgia and Louisiana can stabilize the insurance market and provide direct financial relief to consumers. Triple-I remains committed to educating lawmakers and the public on the high cost of legal system abuse, addressing the critical issue of affordability for families, and driving legislative progress that restores balance to the national economy.”
Triple-I’s high-impact digital out-of-home advertising campaigns in Madison, Wis., and Oklahoma City, Okla., strategically place messaging throughout the areas surrounding the two state capitols to ensure maximum visibility among lawmakers before the close of the legislative session. Both campaigns highlight the “billboard lawyer” narrative and expose how aggressive attorney advertising increases insurance costs.
Digital out-of-home ads highlight attorney advertising as a form of legal system abuse that drives up costs.
In Oklahoma City, Triple-I has also secured a prominent brick-and-mortar billboard near the state capitol, reinforcing the campaign's reach with a persistent, physical presence throughout the 2026 legislative session. The placement is designed to educate both lawmakers and consumers on the need for tort reform to address legal system abuse.
Brick-and-mortar billboard in Oklahoma City also highlights that legal system abuse drives high insurance premiums.
Complementing these efforts, Triple-I is targeting consumers and lawmakers in both states through a Facebook awareness campaign highlighting how lawsuit abuse, often driven by billboard attorneys and third-party litigation financing by dark money investors, increases insurance premiums and everyday costs for consumers.
Triple-I Facebook ads highlight the economic impact of legal system abuse on each respective state.
These multi-faceted campaigns will help raise awareness for the role of legal system abuse in increasing auto, home and business insurance costs. Triple-I is confident these efforts will demonstrate how tort reform is needed to protect state economies in the face of increasing everyday goods and services.
