2013 Natural Catastrophe Year in Review

The 2013 Natural Catastrophe Year-in-Review webinar provided a global overview of natural catastrophes for the full year, including tropical storms, winter storms, thunderstorms/tornados, floods, droughts, wildfires and earthquakes. A special focus was be on the fairly low hurricane activity in the US, compared with above-average typhoon activity on the other side of the globe, and the expectations for the next few years. Also discussed was the below-average tornado activity during 2013 and future expectations. And I.I.I. President, Robert Hartwig, provided an overview of the economic implications of the natural catastrophes that occurred in 2013, and the impact these losses had on underwriting performance and profitability of the U.S. P/C insurance industry.
