NEW YORK, June 12, 2003 - Terrorism, global financial risks and changing the economics of insurance will be central issues discussed by senior insurance executives from around the world at the 39th annual seminar of the International Insurance Society (IIS), July 13-16, 2003 at the Waldorf=Astoria, New York.
The New World of Insurance: Pursuing New Opportunities, Protecting Existing Markets, will include some of the world's most prominent insurance leaders, including, among others:
The program will also include discussions on such issues as managing financial risk, maintaining customer, shareholder and regulator confidence, and the uses of information technology to monitor risk and track information across borders.
"By bringing together key leaders in insurance from around the world, we are able to network and to discuss timely issues, providing real value to people who work in a global environment," said Patrick Kenny, president and chief executive officer of the IIS. "We are pleased to have the Insurance Information Institute, a premiere U.S. insurance organization, hosting this year's event in New York."

Founded in 1965 as a non-profit corporation, the International Insurance Society, Inc. provides a world forum for leading insurance executives, academicians and others interested in insurance to share interests and ideas on timely global issues. Today, the Society is the largest multinational gathering of its kind with over 1,000 corporate and individual members from 92 countries, including senior management from regional companies serving one or more markets and multinational corporations.
The Insurance Information Institute is a non-profit communications organization supported by property/casualty insurers. For more than 40 years, the I.I.I. has provided definitive insurance information. Today, the I.I.I. is recognized by the media, governments, regulatory organizations, universities and the public as a primary source of information, analysis and referral concerning insurance.
