FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York Press Office: (212) 346-5500; media@iii.org
NEW YORK, December 11, 2014 — Reporters with questions regarding the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program and its extension, can contact the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.).
Dr. Robert Hartwig, CPCU, an economist and president of the I.I.I., is available for interviews. Dr. Hartwig is author of the White Papers, Economic and Insurance Implications of TRIPRA’s Non-Renewal and Terrorism Risk: A Constant Threat - 2014. Dr. Hartwig has also recently testified before Congressional committees three times on the issue.
Since its creation in 2002, the federal Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA), and its successors, have been critical components of U.S. national economic security infrastructure. The Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (TRIPRA) has cost taxpayers virtually nothing, yet the law continues to provide tangible benefits to the U.S. economy in the form of terrorism insurance market stability, affordability and availability.
The I.I.I. has the following information on the topic:
The I.I.I. has a full library of educational videos on its You Tube Channel. Information about I.I.I. mobile apps can be found here.
THE I.I.I. IS A NONPROFIT, COMMUNICATIONS ORGANIZATION SUPPORTED BY THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY.
