CBS’s Brennan, Columbia’s Hubbard to Speak at 2020’s Joint Industry Forum

NEW YORK, October 30, 2019—Margaret Brennan, moderator of CBS News’ Face the Nation, and Glenn Hubbard, former chairman of the U.S. Council of Economic Advisers, will address the 38th annual Property/Casualty (P/C) Joint Industry Forum on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City’s Times Square. 

Brennan, in addition to serving as moderator of Face the Nation, is CBS News' senior foreign affairs correspondent based in Washington, D.C. She joined CBS News in 2012. Earlier in her career, Brennan covered global financial markets at Bloomberg Television and CNBC.

During the Forum’s Opening Session, at 10:45 a.m., Brennan will be interviewed by Sean Kevelighan, CEO, Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.), on the current issues of the day as well as the 2020 elections. The I.I.I. is the Forum’s host.

Hubbard, who earned a PhD degree in economics from Harvard University, is dean emeritus and Russell L. Carson Professor of Finance and Economics at Columbia Business School. From 2001 until 2003, he was chairman of the U.S. Council of Economic Advisers. In the corporate sector, Hubbard is on the boards of ADP, BlackRock Fixed Income Funds, and MetLife, where he is the board’s chairman.

During the Forum’s final session, which begins at 3:40 p.m., Hubbard will deliver his analysis of the events and trends which will shape the business environment for the insurance sector.

Vision 2020 is the theme of 2020’s P/C Joint Industry Forum. The formal agenda begins at 10:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:15 p.m.  Subject matter experts will be discussing throughout the day issues of significant importance to insurers and reinsurers, such as:

  • Extreme Weather
  • The Future of Insurance Marketing
  • A 21st Century Workforce that Reflects the Communities We Serve
     

Registration for the event is open to executives at P/C and life insurance companies, reinsurance companies, intermediaries and other related service organizations, including: CEOs; presidents; public and government affairs executives; insurance trade association leaders; regulators; and state and federal government representatives. The per person registration fee is $795 through Friday, Nov. 1, and rises to $995 after that date.
