NEW YORK, Jan. 9, 2019Randal Quarles, a member of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors, is joining the lineup of distinguished speakers at the Insurance Information Institute’s (I.I.I.) 2019 Joint Industry Forum on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019. 

Federal Reserve Governor Quarles’ Forum conversation with I.I.I. CEO Sean Kevelighan (10:45 a.m.) will be followed later in the day by retired four-star General Stanley McChrystal’s (12:30 p.m.) keynote luncheon address. The Forum’s final agenda item is a conversation between former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and the I.I.I.’s Kevelighan (5 p.m.).

The I.I.I.’s annual Joint Industry Forum is open to the media and details on the event are below.

WHEN: Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019

  • Registration: 9—10:30 a.m.
  • Forum: 10:30 a.m.—5:30 p.m.

WHERE: New York Marriott Marquis Hotel—9th Floor, 1535 Broadway, at West 46th Street, New York City, NY 10036

Media should register in advance. On the day of the event, reporters should pick up their credentials at the media registration table, which will be near the elevator bank on the hotel's 9th floor. Media can operate throughout the day in the hotel's 9th floor Jolson Room. 

The Forum features a dynamic program highlighting the emerging trends which are shaping the property/casualty, life and reinsurance industries. Panel discussions will focus on topics such as how geopolitical uncertainty has impacted the regulatory environment; the privacy and ethical implications of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning; and how to build resilient communities in disaster-prone areas.
