NEW YORK, October 28, 2019 —Reporters covering California’s Kincade and Tick Fires are encouraged to contact the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.) for interviews and analysis.

The I.I.I. subject matter experts listed below can discuss wildfire-related auto, homeowners, renters, and business insurance coverage issues while also providing evacuation and claims-filing tips.   In addition, the Triple-I blog offers guidance on these matters.

California Governor Gavin Newsom declared yesterday a statewide emergency due to the “unprecedented high-wind events which have resulted in fires and evacuations across the state.”

Besides the Kincade Fire, a blaze burning northwest of San Francisco, and the Tick Fire, which is west of Los Angeles, there are other wildfires being fought currently in California.
